Nintendo Switch is expected to be the pioneer of a new era on handheld gaming. Pre-orders are piling up on mountains because fans wants to experience the console on its release day. It might be a good idea to pre-order a spare SD Card, as games would have tons of MBs, even GBs to download.

Polygon reported that the Nintendo Switch will come with a 32GB base storage. The Switch will set aside 6GB of this memory for the operating system. So all in all, there would be 26GB base storage available for storing games. This storage is pretty much not enough if the player will be planning to buy graphic-rich games as the player can only fit on or two on 26 GB.

As reported by GameSpot, games such as "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will weigh a somehow heavy 13.4GB. "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe", "Disgaea 5" and "Nobunaga's Ambition" will somehow allow more games to be added with its 8GB size. "Puyo Puyo Tetris", "Snipperclips", and "I am Setsuna" will comfortably fit on the base storage of Nintendo Switch.

The game that players must take note is the "Dragon Quest Heroes 1 & 2". It is recommended players who want to play this game when it is available must purchase a separate SD Card because the size of the downloadable game is 32GB. The game will not fit on the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo Switch supports SDXC cards and is upgradable up to 2TB. A good card in the market right now is the Samsung 128GB EVO which can be bought for $39.99. Another budget friendly card is Patriot LX Series 64GB High Speed Micro SDXC Class 10 which can only be bought for $19.49.

One card would b sufficient if the games to be bought for Nintendo Switch would be just two or three medium sized games. The 2TB support is only beneficial for those who will use the Switch for other things, like game screenshots or for anything else.
