Despite the Galaxy Note 7's downfall last year, Samsung is now working on the phone's successor: the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. There were already reports regarding its features.

Rumors had been surfacing the internet that the codename of the Galaxy Note 8 is "Baikal". Ubergizmo reported that Baikal is a lake in southern Siberia which is believed to be the world's deepest lake. This is relevant to the Galaxy Note 8 as it remains to be seen.

According to Tech Radar, the Galaxy Note 8 is rumored to have a large and foldable screen. It was also rumored that Samsung will release 2 foldable phones this year. There's this Samsung Galaxy X but the Note 8 might also just be one of them.  The phone is also said to have a 4K display to accommodate the Gear VR. The Note 8 might also ditch the home button.

Techradar reported that the Galaxy Note 8 might have a dual-lens camera. The Galaxy S8 is rumored to have a dual lens ranging from 12 MP and 13 MP and a 30 MP single lens camera. With the current dual lens camera trend, Galaxy Note 8 might also have this camera. Optical image stabilization may also be present in the phone's camera s it was present in its predecessor.

The Note 8 is most likely to have either the Snapdragon 830 which is rumored to have 3.2 GHz octa-core processor or the Exynos 8895 which has a 3 GHz octa-core chip. The phone might also have atleast 4GB of RAM or even a 6 or 8GB. Android Nougat or O will be the Note 8's operating system with the latest version of Samsung's TouchWiz interface. (techradar.com)
