Moto G5 And Moto G5 Plus: Motorola Has Redefined Mid-Range Phones With Premium Design

Lenovo has launched Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus at MWC 2017 in Barcelona. The smartphones will soon be available in the international market but as per the reports, these smartphones are already available in Brazil.

The Lenovo-owned company, Motorola has launched Moto G5 and G5 Plus with Android 7.0 Nougat and the devices will begin shipping in March. The "Moto G Series" smartphones are the bestselling under Moto brand and these are decent devices for attractive prices.

The new phones Moto G5 and G5 Plus have been completely overhauled in the design department and appear like the Moto Z family with a premium metal finish. Both the smartphones feature an aluminum back plate that feels great when held in hand.

Moto G5 and G5 Plus have 5-inch and 5.2-inch screen respectively. Both the panels sport a full HD resolution. Their screen sizes are perfect for single hand use and the build quality is decent for the price. NCF is not present in both the devices.

The Moto G5 has a Snapdragon 430 processor with an option of 16GB storage and 2GB RAM or 32GB storage and 3GB RAM. The Moto G5 Plus sports a Snapdragon 625 CPU with an option for a 32GB or 64GB version with 2GB RAM and 4GB RAM respectively. Both Moto G5 and G5 Plus support microSD card up to 128GB.

Moto G5 and G5 Plus use microUSB ports and both the smartphones support Dual-SIM. Moto G5 has 2800mAH battery (removable) and G5 Plus gets a bigger 3000mAH battery that is sealed and non-removable.

The Moto G5 and G5 Plus come loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat and feature Motorola's software customizations. There is an option to disable Android's onscreen buttons and use swiping gestures on the fingerprint sensor. Users can swipe left for back and swipe right for the multitasking view on the fingerprint sensor.

These smartphones have great cameras. The Moto G5 features 13-megapixel f/2.0 camera with phase detection autofocus while the Moto G5 Plus features 12-megapixel f/1.7 camera and the plus model is also capable of recording 4K video.

The new Moto G5 and G5 Plus come in two color options - Fine Gold and Lunar Grey. The price for the Moto G5 Plus starts at $229 while the lower end model, Moto G5, will start at $210 ( Moto G5 will not be released in the US).
