"Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 is bringing out the big guns, with a lot of explosive scenes and revelations in the last few episodes. Steve found out that Danny was thinking of retiring, which fueled the rumor that the actor Scott Caan was leaving the show. Will he leave the series just like co-star Alex O'Loughlin is planing to do after Season 8?

In "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 Episode 18, Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) discovered Danny Williams' (Scott Caan) list of things he wanted to do after retirement. An argument erupted between the two when Steve accused Danny of not being open to him about the fact that he was planning to leave the force to open a restaurant.

This got the fans speculating whether Scott Caan will actually leave the show. According to Carter Matt, Danny is notably absent in the synopsis for the upcoming episode. Although he and Steve are partners, in "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 Episode 19, Steve will be working closely with Kono instead while they investigate a case involving an abused young girl who might be the victim of a sex trafficking ring.

Caan has not said anything about him leaving the show, though. Masi Oka, who played Dr. Max Bergman, left the show in "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 Episode 13. Although the producers have not given an official statement about the next character to depart, Alex O'Loughlin, who stars as Steve, has already expressed his desire to leave after Season 8.

During interviews, O'Loughin has said that the show was wearing him out and that Season 8 would be his last run. He said that the series has been physically exhausting so he's planning to leave soon, but he has always said that he would stay throughtout "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7. Caan has not said anything about leaving the police procedural drama. Fans can only hope that neither actor will leave before the show officially concludes.

So far, the show has had high ratings. According to TV Line, "Hawaii Five-0" Season 7 drew the largest number of viewers last Friday. They had 9 million viewers with 1.1 rating, beating out other shows like "MacGyver", "Grimm", and "Sleepy Hollow". The next episode will air in March 2017.
