‘Shadowhunters’ Season 2B: Showrunners on Jace, Clary, Simon Love Triangle; Valentine Returns

Jace certainly has a lot to go through when the "Shadowhunters" Season 2B opens. Not only does he have to hide his feelings for Clary, but he may be in trouble once the Downworlders know he has angel blood. Likewise, there is Valentine who is likely to exact his revenge.

The Winter Finale of the "Shadowunters" Season 2 ended with several cliffhangers that fans are eager to know how they are resolved. Viewers will see what happens to Jace, Clary and Simon when the show returns on June 5, according to Cartermatt. However, showrunner Todd Slavkin recently dished a few spoilers ahead of the midseason premiere.

Slavkin talked about the upcoming Simon-Clary-Jace love triangle that the "Shadowhunters" Season 2B will explore. To recap, the Winter Finale, "By The Light of Dawn," ended with Valentine telling Jace that he is not his real son. This means he and Clary are not siblings. This knowledge should make Jace happy since he can now freely express his love for Clary.

However, Clary and Simon are in love, which only complicates things. According to Slavkin, the "Shadowhunters" Season 2B will show how Jace handles the situation and his feelings for Clary. "Moving forward in 2B, that triangle between Clary, Simon, and Jace only gets more complicated; it only gets juicier because Jace knows the truth," Slavkin told Entertainment Weekly.

Likewise, Slavkin talked about Jace's angelic blood. The showrunner hinted that he could be in trouble with the Downworlders going into the "Shadowhunters" Season 2B. Jace unknowingly revealed that his blood is capable of turning vampires into Daylighters. Simon now has his blood and he walked under the sun unharmed.

Slavkin said that Jace is in a tough spot if the Downworlders know about his angel blood. However, he hinted that this revelation remains a secret. "We deal with that moving forward in ['Shadowhunters' Season] 2B and it's a secret that Simon holds dear to his heart," Slavkin further told the publication.

Lastly, with Valentine still alive, there is a big chance that he is going to come after Jace for handing him to The Clave. Slavkin said he plays a huge role in the "Shadowhunters" Season 2B. However, will he go straight for Jace or hunt down Clary?
