Emma Watson kickstarted a new controversy recently for posing topless--covering her upper body with a lace shrug--for the front cover of Vanity Fair. So what kickstarted the debate? Well, Emma was criticized for her topless pictures which fans felt is against her true feminist ideals. Outraged fans claimed that she cannot be a feminist and a sexual being.

Days later, Emma Watson defended her pictures, saying that feminism is about freedom and choice. She added, "Feminism is about giving women choice. Feminism is not a stick with which to beat other women with. It's about freedom, it's about liberation, it's about equality. I really don't know what my t-s have to do with it. It's very confusing."

But the problem didn't stop there, she was soon bombarded with negative comments from Beyonce fans. Reason? A few years back Emma Watson questioned Beyonce "for calling herself a feminist while appealing to the male gaze," BuzzFeed reported. Soon, fans labeled her as "hypocrite" and stated it as a prime example of "white feminism."

An opinion on Huffington Post described a detailed insight on "how similar hypocrisy has repeatedly plagued mainstream feminism, commercially benefited white women and furthered negative stereotypes of black women." Well, now Emma Watson has defended herself with a long transcribe of the interview in which she spoke about Beyonce. The "Beauty and the Beast" actress also highlighted the parts that focussed on the issue. The quote insisted that she praised the pop queen rather than criticizing her ideas.

From the transcript, it looks like Emma Watson was indeed praising Beyonce for balancing her music and stated, sexuality is an empowerment choose by an individual. She further said that the message of her album puts feminism, femininity, and female empowerment on a boarder spectrum. Post the clarification, some chose to support her but some were not ready to accept her ideas.
