Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson Dating: ‘Twilight’ Actress Confidently Opens About Sexuality

Kristen Stewart is one strong woman who is not afraid to speak her mind. The actress, who made waves last month after her fiery opening monolog on "Saturday Night Live" that took a jab at US President Donald Trump, recently opened up about coming out and her former relationship with "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson.

In an interview with London's Saturday Times (via NBC News), Stewart explained that she wasn't hiding her sexual orientation in the past, but kept things under wraps because she wanted to keep her personal life private.

"I wasn't hiding anything. I didn't talk about my first relationships that went public because I wanted things that are mine to be mine. I hated it that details of my life were being turned into a commodity and peddled around the world," Stewart said.

However, things took a turn for Stewart when she realized that her private life affects a lot of other people who are in the same circumstance as her. By coming out, Stewart wanted to make other people feel good about themselves and who they are.

Stewart has since been romantically linked to Alicia Cargile, Soko, St. Vincent and most recently Stella Maxwell.

In the same interview, Stewart opened up about her relationship with Robert Pattinson and the scrutiny she faced at that time. "When I was dating Rob, the public were the enemy - and that is no way to live. It wasn't this grand statement, 'I was so confused! Now I've realized who I am!' I have not been struggling," the actress said, as quoted by Perez Hilton.

The pair first met on the set of their movie "Twilight" and later went on to date for more than three years. The exes still remain friends and reportedly still communicate every now and then. Pattinson is currently engaged to singer FKA Twigs.

Meanwhile, Stewart and Pattinson's past relationship became a hot topic when Stewart hosted "Saturday Night Live." During her opening speech, Stewart narrated that Trump was "obsessed" about her relationship with Pattinson and that he constantly talked about the celebrity couple on Twitter.
