NBC is reportedly bringing the singing talent show "American Idol" back for a reboot and they want Kanye West to replace Simon Cowell as a judge. However, the rapper himself denied that he is in any kind of negotiation to be a part of the long-running talent show as a judge.

Harper's Bazaar wrote that "American Idol" is allegedly due for a reboot, despite having its curtain call less than a year ago after an impressive 15-year run. Former host and "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" executive producer Ryan Seacrest is supposedly the one pushing for the show's revival. And thanks to him, NBC is also said to be pursuing Kanye West, who occasionally appears in his wife Kim's family drama show.

According to an anonymous tipper, NBC is eager to have the Chicago onboard the "American Idol." It seems that Kanye West is the network's number one choice for judge, putting him above Simon Cowell. And it also looks like he is interested in the position as he has been asking Jennifer Lopez about the gig. Lopez herself was a one-time judge in the reality show back in 2010.

However, TMZ reported that the surfacing story about Kanye West signing up with NBC is false. The gossip show cited sources close to "The Life of Pablo" star said that there are no talks ongoing about him being a judge or even as a host on "American Idol." Furthermore, he also is not in negotiations with any other show.

The gossip show's website also clarified that there are indeed rumors flying around that "American Idol" is possibly up for a reboot. And if Kanye West does join the contest as a judge, it would not be his first appearance. Last season, he showed up during the open call auditions to test the waters. His wife Kim Kardashian was also present to give him support.
