Salvador Perez, the costume designer for "Pitch Perfect 3," has spoken up against the body shaming controversy over the film. Fans complained that the film discriminated Rebel Wilson because of her appearance in a cast photo.

Salvador Perez took to social media to address the body shaming controversy hit at "Pitch Perfect 3." He clarified that the wardrobe team did not choose the outfits for the casts. Instead, each cast was given the liberty to pick their own clothes. "I let each actor decide how their costume fit, it was their choice," Perez wrote on his Twitter.

Salvador Perez's tweet came after a cast photo stirred controversy that "Pitch Perfect 3" was body shaming Wilson. According to Teen Vogue, fans thought that it discriminated body size when they saw the actress wore a different outfit from her co-stars. The photo shows her in short sleeves while Chrissie Fit and Brittany Snow wore matching halter-tops.

Instagram commentators found fault in the fact that she is wearing short sleeves while the rest are not. They think that "Pitch Perfect 3" is body shaming the actress just because she did not wear a halter top. "No one else is wondering why she's the only one not wearing the cute halter top?? Instead, she's got long sleeves?" one commentator named Chas wrote.

However, Mail Online pointed out that Wilson's outfit in "Pitch Perfect 3" is no different from her costume in the second film. She also wore short sleeves during the final performance instead of a tank top, contrary to her peers who wore sleeveless ( see video below).

Likewise, Wilson is not the only "Pitch Perfect 3" cast who wore the short sleeves. Another photo shows Ester Dean is also wearing the same outfit. She and Wilson share similar body type. Likewise, Salvador Perez revealed that Hana Mae also chose the short sleeves over the halter-type.
