Subscribers can now feast their eyes on more than a dozen Netflix original movies coming out this year. The films are under varying genres like crime, mystery, comedy, fantasy, and more. They will also feature big stars like Brad Pitt, Adam Sandler, Tilda Swinton, Lily Collins, Henry Cavill, and more.

Netflix has been working hard on producing more original content since 2013, according to Screen Rant. One of the original films the corporation will release is "Sandy Wexler", which stars Adam Sandler, who is in contract to do four Netflix original movies. Fellow comedian, Marlon Wayan, is also set to appear for a Netflix debut in "Naked," a remake of the Swedish film "Naken."

Indie romance film "Tramps" stars Callum Turner ("Green Room", "Glue") and newcomer Grace Van Patten. It garnered an impressive hundred percent rating on review site Rotten Tomatoes. One of the Netflix original movies coming in 2017 is "War Machine", a film adaptation of Michael Hastings' novel "The Operators", and it stars Brad Pitt as real-life general Stanley A. McChrystal.

Other Netflix original movies are "Sand Castle" and "Blame". The former stars Nicholas Hoult, Henry Cavill, Logan Marshall-Green ("Prometheus"), and Glen Powell ("Scream Queens"). It tells the real-life story of the film's scriptwriter while he served during the Iraq war and repaired a small town's water system. "Blame", meanwhile, is adapted from Tsutomu Nihei's cyberpunk graphic novel.

According to Metro, many fans had deemed the novel "unadaptable"; however, there has been a lot of positive feedback for the trailer. The 2017 Netflix original movies list includes another film by an Asian creator. Bong Joon-ho, who was responsible for "Snowpiercer," will soon release "Okja" which is a story about a young girl struggling to protect her strange animal friend from a greedy company. The film has a star-studded cast such as Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, and Lily Collins.

"Ghost in the Shell" has received a lot of flak for reportedly "whitewashing" the major character, and so did the new "Death Note" adaptation, which is a part of this year's Netflix original movies program. The latter stars Nat Wolff ("The Fault in Our Stars") as Light Turner, a student who stumbles upon a Death Note, which has the power to take people's lives once their names are written in the notebook.
