Freeform just ordered a full season of Marvel's "New Warriors" TV series. The straight-to-series show is a new take on the superhero genre. It will be an all-out comedy aimed at a younger audience. The full list of superheroes has not been revealed yet, but Squirrel Girl is set to be one of the main characters.

The Freeform network is already set to launch Marvel's "Cloak and Dagger" TV show next year. The Disney-owned channel has also ordered the first season of Marvel's "New Warriors" TV series. It will be a different breed from other superhero TV shows because it will be a 30-minute live-action comedy, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The first season will only have ten episodes, but only a few details about Marvel's "New Warriors" TV series has been revealed. In fact, there is still no final word on the identity of the showrunner. "Scrubs" and "Cougar Town" alum, Kevin Biegel, is currently in talks to produce and write the show, but it's not yet official.

Marvel's "New Warriors" TV series doesn't have a list of characters and cast yet, but one thing's for sure: It will star Doreen Green a.k.a. Squirrel Girl. There will be five additional members, but there's no official announcement yet as to who they might be. Firestar, Marvel Boy, Namorita, Night Thrasher, Speedball, and Nova were part of the comics' New Warriors team, but this line-up might change on the screen.

While Marvel's "New Warriors" TV series is a campy comedy, "Cloak and Dagger" is melodramatic, but there's still a chance for the two worlds to crossover. Comicbook reported that the new show is aimed at a younger audience similar to the CW's DCEU like "Arrow", "The Flash", "Supergirl", and "Legends of Tomorrow". "Arrow" has a darker tone compared to "The Flash" and "Supergirl" but the crossovers still work well.

The highly-awaited "New Warriors" has a light atmosphere. It revolves around high school students with powers and how they manage school life and their dreams of using their powers to help people. Marvel's "New Warriors" TV series doesn't have its female lead yet, but many stars like Anna Kendrick and "Stranger Things" star Shannon Purser are interested in playing Squirrel Girl.
