PlayerUnknown's "Battlegrounds" has reached a milestone after its second week of official release. It is now one of the best-selling games and most played games on Steam. Not only that, one million copies has been sold on Steam Early Access albeit the game being still young and currently on Beta Mode.

The game was released last March 23 and has been unstoppable since. In its second week, PlayerUnknown's "Battlegrounds" has already sold one million copies, which makes it the number one best selling game on Steam and is among the top five most-played Steam game. Another similar game, "DayZ" which was released on 2013 needed at least four weeks to reach this feat as reported by Polygon.

PlayerUnknown's "Battlegrounds" was created by modder Brendan Greene. Green helped in the creation of the similar game "H1Z1: King of the Kill" with Daybreak Games. The modder then worked with the developer studio Bluehole to produce "Battlegrounds" and this time, Green is the master of his show. The two games are often compared to each other, but more people are flocking on "Battlegrounds" albeit its

"H1Z1: King of the Hill" and PlayerUnknown's "Battlegrounds" sort of came from the same root. Both games came from ideas of Greene. What is different in "Battlegrounds" is its riddance of painful bugs that holds back gameplay. It was only developed less than a year, but it seems like Green and South Korean studio Bluehole is patching up known mistakes. Albeit being on Beta, there is a "complete game" touch that H1Z1 lacks.

"H1Z1: King of the Kill" dropped the bombs late, with a very little progression made for several years. PlayerUnknown's "Battlegrounds" dropped the bombs from the beginning, with a lot of weapons and choices from the beta state. With this kind of success, it is expected to be ready for official release in the next six months, as reported by Eurogamer.
