There are a lot of expectations from "The Bad Batch," because it is Ana Lily Amirpour's second directorial effort, after her debut film, "A Girl Walks Home Alone." The trailer has a "Mad-Max"-like feel to it, with Keanu Reeves, Jason Mamoa, and Suki Waterhouse taking on a new-age, post-apocalyptic adventure.

The story of "The Bad Batch" follows the activities of a group called Bad Batch, all of whom have been evicted from the traditional society and forced to live out their lives in a desert outside of Texas. The protagonist, Arlen (Suki Waterhouse), the newest member of the unusual group, is missing an arm and a leg. Yet, she carries a firearm ready to face anyone who tries to cause her harm.

It is the world where state laws do not apply, making it that much harder for Arlen to tell the difference between good and evil in "The Bad Batch." Finally, she is compelled to face the harsh reality when she gets captured by body-building cannibals.

According to Screen Rant, the trailer of "The Bad Batch" does justice to the overall atmosphere of the film, giving the audience a taste of its bizarrely unique features. Jason Mamoa and Keanu Reeves look particularly intimidating as the leaders of their own gangs. Jim Carrey and Giovanni Ribisi also plays significant roles in the movie.

However, despite the film boasting of being different from all post-apocalyptic films made till date, it would all come down to how "The Bad Batch" manages to utilize its shock-value to keep on captivating the audience an hour into its plot, Slash film reports. That, even if there is no definitive climax to be had, the journey itself mesmerizes viewers enough to make up for it.

"The Bad Batch" is one of the most anticipated movies of 2017 due to its strong star cast and genuine plot. However, it is still to be seen how it manages to fare at the box office after it releases on June 23.
