'Outlander' Season 3 has yet to air but fans are already talking about 'Outlander' Season 4. Below are some of the details revealed so far about the sequel in terms of casts, the release date, and possible plot spoilers.

Starz has cast two Northern Inuit puppies that will take turns portraying the cute but tough dog Rollo in "Outlander" Season 4. The publication shared a photo of the adorable puppies that will play an important role in the series. Training for these dogs will begin as soon as possible to prepare them for their role in the Fraser family.

"They should be just right to play Rollo when the time comes. They'd need to growl and look menacing on command, I think, and carry back prey of one kind or another to their master," author Diana Gabaldon told Entertainment Weekly. Readers of Gabaldon's book may be familiar with Rollo as the dog young Ian won in a card game. The pair eventually forms a life-long bond as soon as Rollo becomes a member of the Fraser family.

In terms of plot or storyline, "Outlander" Season 4 will be based on Gabaldon's novel titled "Drums of Autumn." Starz has yet to release an official synopsis for the sequel, but the synopsis for the book is available on Gabaldon's official website.

In "Drums of Autumn" Claire has returned to Jamie's time. She has traveled back to the past to be with him as they build a new life together, with his nephew Young Ian in North Carolina. Meanwhile, Brianna, her daughter with Jaimie, is now a time-traveller too. According to the synopsis, Brianna has traveled to the past several times to rescue her parents. It is likely that fans will see this story play out in "Outlander" Season 4 although with a few tweaks as to avoid spoiling the series.

Meanwhile, Starz has yet to announce a release date for "Outlander" Season 4. Season 3 does not return until September 2017, so it is likely that the sequel will arrive sometime in September 2018.
