"Blade Runner 2049" is just a week from now for its international release on the big screen on Oct 5 and 6, but the sci-fi fever can't stop from making even a short, 15-minute prequel, in the anime version. The release of "Blade Runner Black Out 2022" is just as stunning especially with the help of "Cowboy Bebop" director Shinichiro Watanabe, who was able to capture how desolation and claustrophobia look with his superb visual expertise. Watanabe's ideas will somehow be ripped off from the original but it will still be in line with the 1987 and 2017 "Blade Runner" movies, marking its third prequel.

In a report from AV Club the first two prequels were done by Luke Scott titled "2036: Nexus Dawn" and "2048: Nowhere To Run", which stars Jared Leto as he shows off his new line of androids and aging replicant Dave Bautista demonstrates his remaining strength, respectively. This short prequel "Blade Runner Black Out 2022" will instead travel further back in the past, as it illustrates an ongoing public outrage and attacks on the replicants, but which eventually learns to fight back. As director Denis Villeneuve gets Shinichiro Watanabe for the third prequel, the latter expressed his desire to make an anime version of the neo-noir 1980's sci-fi film.

"Blade Runner Black Out 2022" has Steven Ellison aka Flying Lotus to be the experimental producer for the short prequel's soundtrack. Comicbook reports that the story of the 15-minute prequel will be based three years after the original Blade Runner and will touch a background of what took place in "Blade Runner 2049." A bit of what has transpired in the short third prequel of "Blade Runner", Trixie and Iggy are replicants in a world where they are cruelly treated by human beings.

As the world turns into a turmoil after a blackout that caused an EMP blast and thus erasing all data's and records where the replicants were registered. A previous character from "Blade Runner", Gaff will be voiced by Edward James Olmos who returns for his role. Get ready for more of Watanabe's "Cowboy Bebop" inspired fight scenes as "Blade Runner Black Out 2022" can be watched on Crunchyroll.
