"Glee" star Cory Monteith died of an overdose last month, but he had a couple of films completed before his untimely death. One of them, which will end up being his final movie, is a dramatic cop drama McCanick with Monteith playing a dangerous drug addict on the run in his final role. Though only the trailer and a synopsis have been released, it looks like Cory was about to launch his career into more serious roles as opposed to his more family-friendly projects. McCanick and his other posthumous film, All The Wrong Reasons, will both be premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.
McCanick is directed by Josh C. Waller and also stars David Morse, Ciaran Hinds, Mike Vogel, Rachel Nichols, Tracie Thoms, Trevor Morgan, and Aaron Yoo.
Here is the synopsis of the film:
A hothead cop (David Morse) learns a young man (Cory Monteith, in one of his final film roles) he helped put away seven years ago is back out on the streets - and carries with him an uncomfortable secret. This tough, tension-riddled action-drama is a showcase for Morse's intensity and Monteith's charisma.
