Ewan McGregor is the most recent actor rumored to be returning to the Star Wars franchise for the upcoming Episode VII installment expected to hit theaters in 2015. The J.J. Abrams-directed movie is garnering a lot of attention, though news and updates are few and far between. All we have now are rumors and the latest one is pretty interesting. How will McGregor's Obi-Wan Kenobi play a role in the new Star Wars?

McGregor hasn't been coy about his wanting to return to the franchise. Earlier this year he admitted he would want to return and even had some ideas for an Obi-Wan spinoff film. Check out footage of McGregor talking about his future with Star Wars right here:

Basically, this new rumor is saying that McGregor's dreams of returning have come true. Even the part about a spinoff is rumored to be true. Epsiode VII will supposedly have McGregor return as Kenobi in the form of a Force ghost. This is a risky move, but we'll see how it plays out.

Earlier this week, Mstars reported on the casting rumor involving Ian McDiarmid reprising his role as Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious, returning as a Force ghost. Here is an excerpt:

Earlier this week, rumors about Ian McDiarmid returning as Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII broke. This lead plenty of theories on how they would bring back the actor's character, with numerous rumors saying he would be a clone and that he would have a follower that would be the film's main villain. But now a new rumor has come up and it is making the plot to the film seem pretty epic! (POSSIBLE SPOILERS to follow)

Here is an excerpt from Slashfilm, detailing this rumor:

The rumor comes to us from Latino Review. They're reporting that Tuesday's rumor, of actor Ian McDiarmid coming back for Star Wars Episode VII, is true but that he won't come back as a clone. He'll come back as Force ghost just as Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are seen at the end of Return of the Jedi.

Their story continues by saying not only does the Emperor return as a ghost, but that before his demise, he was training another apprentice. An apprentice who, one would assume, had been laying in wait to reveal himself to the Jedi.
