The rumored romance between Selena Gomez and Union J's George Shelley has apparently cooled down a bit in the headlines, but a recent interview features Shelley talking about the "Come and Get It" songstress once more. These two reportedly spent the night together in Portugal after months of flirting, but Gomez recently said that George never called her after she asked him to. Clearly these are some mixed stories, but luckily for us George cleared up the rumors.

First of all, George continued to gush about Gomez as much as he could in this new interview with Now Magazine.

"Selena's one of the classiest girls I've ever met and I love class in girls," the singer said.

Clearly there's some sort of attraction between the two, so why can't they make it work?

"She's a superstar," he explained. "She's very busy and [Union J is] just starting out. It's a very tough situation. But she's very lovely,"

Okay, that is pretty lame but there was definitely something going on in Portugal, right? Selena and George were reported to have spent the night together after a date, but neither has confirmed this. So what happened that night?

"Nothing. We just chatted - all of us were there," George revealed. "It was lovely of her to invite us back to her place, but it was a private thing. We were a bit shocked it got into the papers. It highlighted the fact that you don't know who to trust."

He added: "I let her know the story was out and that I was shocked. It's all about having respect for yourself and the other person. It's nice to have some parts of your life private."

Are you disappointed to see this romance fading away? Do you think it will spark up again?
