As expected, Katy Perry's third studio album Prism has shaped up to be the No. 1 album this week on the Billboard 200. According to Billboard, the "Roar" album sold 286,000 copies, the highest sales for a woman thus far in 2013.

Perry has bested Miley Cyrus' comeback effort Bangerz for that title. Upon its release on Oct. 8, that record sold 270,000 copies.

Led by singles "Roar" and the new love ballad "Unconditionally," it should come as no surprise that pop megastar Perry blasted at No. 1. The rest of last week's offerings were notably small, with new releases from Fifth Harmony, AFI and DJ Khaled being her closest new competition.

In an historically low sales week, last week's chart-topper, Pearl Jam's Lightning Bolt struck at No. 2, selling 46,000 copies. The newest set from the "Sirens" rockers topped the Billboard 200 last week with 166,000 units.

Nos. 3 through 5 are familiar fare to the Billboard 200. The second best selling album of 2013, Drake's Nothing Was The Same, comes home at No. 3, selling 44,000 copies, Miley Cyrus' Bangerz falls two spots to No. 4 with 43,000 records sold and Lorde's Pure Heroine climbs back up two spots to No. 5 with 40,000 records.

The record sales take another huge dip with the second new album of the week, Fifth Harmony's Better Together EP. Featuring single "Miss Movin' On," the X Factor girl group come in at No. 6 with 28,000 records sold, marking the best debut from an American X Factor artist.

Other new albums on the chart this week included "All I Do Is Win" rapper DJ Khaled's latest effort, Suffering from Success starts at No. 7 with 27,000 copies and rock band AFI come in at No. 9 with 25,000 copies of Burials.

Between those debuts, old favorites Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience: Part 2 of 2 rises to No. 8 with 26,000 and Luke Bryan's Crash My Party returns to the top 10 at No. 10 and 25,000 copies sold.
