A.J. McCarron befriends Blake Griffin, but is he going to be a star on the field as well as off?

The 2014 NFL Draft excitement is building by the day, and of course, as always, everybody is focusing on the talent at the most important position, the quarterback. There are many quarterbacks who are expected to develop in to quality NFL players in this draft class, but so far it's Teddy Bridgewater and Johnny Manziel that are stealing all the headlines. Are they any better than A.J. McCarron?

A.J. has proven he can win games, improve and remain a composed star off the field, which are vital components a franchise quarterback need. He has already tasted national championships with Alabama, and he's proven his very public relationship with model Katherine Webb has caused no harm for his performance, nor image. It's hard to see why the youngster has been under looked so far, and with McCarron staying in college longer than his rivals, he could be better equipped than some of them.

McCarron's former college coach Nick Saban has given him his vote of confidence, and it seems unlikely that he's wrong with his high praise of his star performer. The star has proven he has the leadership, will to win and the want to improve, so it's easy to see why Saban rates him so highly. So far he has handled himself very well, and last night he got the chance to meet Los Angeles Clippers' Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, showing he's ready for the off-the-field celebrity lifestyle too.
