The 2014 NFL Draft was as exciting as many had predicted it would be, if not more so. The Cleveland Browns ended up landing superstar QB Johnny Manziel, but what prompted them to trade up to grab the former Texas A&M man? Apparently it was a text from Mr. Johnny 'Football' himself. He texted the Browns saying he wanted to "Tear this league up together" and it seems that enthusiasm paid dividends. Now the Cleveland Browns are doing their best to surround him with offensive weapons.

The day after the draft Cleveland's bad luck struck again as wide receiver Josh Gordon was linked with a new drugs ban, one that would possible see him miss an entire season. The Browns of old would of managed without, but Manziel's new team rewarded his commitment and instantly surrounded him with new receiving weapons. The Browns have signed former Dallas Cowboys veteran Miles Austin who spent his entire eight-year career there. Also, they landed former Chicago Bears receiver Earl Bennett.

Both receivers do not equal the talent Josh Gordon offered this team, but it's a start, and in the right system, with the right luck, both Austin and Bennett can provide targets for Manziel to throw too. It seems Cleveland are so happy with the pair that they finally felt comfortable releasing Greg Little today. Many had pushed them to do so for a long period of time, but only today did the organization finally feel the time was right.

It seems technology may of pushed Manziel in Cleveland's direction, but now they've rewarded him with experienced receivers to throw to, and ones that are most definitely better than Greg Little, who previous QB have had to make due with.
