Johnny Manziel & Brian Hoyer: Quarterbacks Take On Detroit Lions As Cleveland Browns & Their Fans Explode With Manziel Talk Online: Who Should Be No. 1 QB?

The hyper over Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel has been going on for years, but the Cleveland Browns adopted that promise (and problem) when they drafted him in the 2014 NFL draft. Last night the fans and the team got to see their man in his first NFL pre-season game, in which he took on Brian Hoyer, against the Detroit Lions, trying to prove that he should be the starting QB. Neither QB had a bad game, or a good game particularly, but the Manziel talk exploded online, with pretty much all eyes on the erratic QB.

Both QB had their turn to impress, but it was Manziel that caused Twitter, Facebook and generally the entire online world to erupt with talk of him. The QB has had his troubles off the field, and so much of his talking has come away from the football field, so his fans were excited to see what he could do when words were not available, and the football was in his hand. He took his chance and didn't look out of place.

Despite a huge amount of hype surrounding a meaningless pre-season game, the Browns, as usual, lost. The Lions were unable to be tamed by the Browns, who lost 13-12. However, all around their team looked capable, and once their best players are fit, healthy and prepared, Johnny Manziel and his team might just rule the NFL, if he starts of course.

The biggest debate in football at the moment is surrounding Hoyer and Manziel. Who should start? The veteran with little game-time experience, or the erratic rookie with tons of potential? Who would you start in game 1 of the 2014/15 NFL season?
