'Magic Mike XXL' Get's New Release Date

The stripper flick is hitting theaters sooner then you think! Well just by a few days, but who's counting?

Magic Mike XXL, the sequel to Magic Mike, will be released to moviegoers on July 1, 2015. The film was originally set to be released July 3, 2015.

The movie will open on a Wednesday, which for studio release dates has become the new Friday. The phenomenon of Wednesday openings has come about in the past few years and is in part designed to maximize positive buzz so the new releases can hit the theaters hard on Friday.

Chief Distributor for Focus Features Jack Foley states, "You get a lot of positive word of mouth going into the weekend. You have two days of people validating the movie locally."

Magic Mike XXL is reportedly supposed to be bigger and better than its little brother Magic Mike. Added cast members include: Elizabeth Banks, Amber Heard, Jada Pinkett Smith and Michael Strahan. Sadly, Matthew McConaughey will not be returning.

Other top single day grosses for Wednesday openings have been: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse racking in more than $68 million. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen at $62 million and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince brining in $58 million for a Wednesday opening.

Truth be told, we foresee Magic Mike fans just as dedicated as Twilight fans.

The news ultimately broke as Tatum took to his Instagram page.
