It's been nearly three months since the suicide of Robin Williams.  Zak Williams, the actor's son, made his first speech since his father's death, telling those in attendance at the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation's fundraising gala on Thursday, Nov. 20, that he and his family are slowly adjusting to life without their father.

"We're doing okay. We're working hard to build our strength and acclimating to the new normal," the 31-year old told Entertainment Tonight. "A large part of what we're doing through this grieving process is giving and spending time focusing on others."

Since his suicide, fans and co-workers of the late Robin Williams have come together to mourn Zak's extremely talented father, who sadly suffered from mental illness.

"The outpouring was remarkable," Zak revealed. "People shared their supportive words, art, and all sorts of amazing tributes to my father."

The Mrs. Doubtfire actor left behind Zak, his half-siblings Zelda, 25, and Cody, 22 (Zak's mom is Williams' first wife, Valerie Velardi; Zelda and Cody are his kids with second wife Marsha Graces.)

"We're acclimating to the new normal. Everything is step by step. Personally, my wife and I are focusing on doing a lot of good. She runs the San Francisco office of Human Rights Watch, and we're working with them to do good in the world," Zak told Us Weekly at Thursday's fundraiser.

Zak continued to reminisce about his father's warm-hearted spirit, "Dad had almost a childlike love, and he shared that love with people, with everyone. And that ability to love, and that ability to be generous and giving and kind is something we would want to share with future generations."
