Are San Francisco 49ers star quarterback Colin Kaepernick and coach Jim Harbaugh done in San Fran? It certainly looks that way, with the team looking like a "dumpster fire" after a disastrous 24-13 loss to the 2-11 Oakland Raiders. The calls for Kaepernick to go are getting louder and indications that Harbaugh will leave after this season are becoming more clear. The questions facing the 49ers are whether or not they'll stick with Kaepernick at quarterback or pick his replacement in the NFL draft and what they can get for Harbaugh in a trade with the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins or Raiders.

After yesterday's loss Harbaugh wouldn't comment on his future beyond the final three 49er games for the season, saying, "No. 1, my priorities are winning football games," he told the media.

But the situation with the 49ers has gotten so bad that USA Today's Mike Foss called the team a "dumpster fire," adding that the team "as we know them are disintegrating before our very eyes in a blazing inferno of self-loathing."

The problem, said Foss, is that the young QB "under the tutelage of one of the great quarterback coaches is now a drowning young quarterback," pointing out that, yes, Harbaugh is done with the 49ers, saying, "and that coach is out the door in three weeks."

The San Francisco Examiner's Glenn Dickey last week ruminated that 49ers "General manager Trent Baalke is probably looking right now at a potential trade or drafting a quarterback. Kaepernick is not the answer."

This week it appears only more clear, with Dickey saying that Kaepernick's not even "a quarterback" and that the team "probably should look for a quarterback in the draft — the college game is heavy with top prospects because of the emphasis on wide-open offenses — and shift Kaepernick to running back, where he could probably be very effective."

As for the 49ers coach, says the Los Angeles Times's Sam Farmer, amid the "rampant speculation 49ers Coach Jim Harbaugh could wind up coaching in Oakland next season," last night's game against the Raiders "might have given him some serious food for thought". He points out that rookie Raiders QB Derek Carr "certainly looked like a solid cornerstone to build a franchise around", as Carr went 22 of 28 for 254 yards and three TDs.

Sports on Earth's Andrew Garda posited that there are three teams that are distinct favorites, saying the "New York Jets are a likely possibility, as are the Oakland Raiders and Miami Dolphins," with the 49ers looking to cash in on Harbaugh's coaching cache and land a swag of draft picks in return for the coach.

And it certainly sounds like Harbaugh wants to stay in the NFL, and not head to the University of Michigan, reports nfl.com's Ian Rapport, who then tweeted out that there was "mutual interest" between Harbaugh and the Raiders.

What do you think? Where would you like to see Jim Harbaugh coach? And should the 49ers move on from Colin Kaepernick? Is moving him to running back and drafting a quarterback a smart move? Comment below!
