Orange Is The New Black's Uzo Aduba quit acting the very day she got the role as Suzanne 'Crazy Eyes' Warren in the Netflix prison comedy, the Emmy-winning actress has revealed to Seth Meyers. Luckily for her, the quitting didn't stick as This week Aduba was nominated for a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award for her role as OITNB's memorable inmate playing opposite star Taylor Schilling. The TV star took to Late Night With Seth Meyers to explain that she was "dead asleep" when she got the Golden Globe nomination (after explaining that she was in the middle of a SoulCycle class when she found out about the SAG nom), and that people on the street won't stop yelling 'Crazy Eyes' at her!

So, why was wanting to quit acting? It turns out she'd hit a brick wall when it came to her theater career. "I just kept getting, 'No', 'No, thank you', 'No,'" she told Meyers. "I was like, 'Okay, maybe this isn't for me.'".

But, having made that decision, Aduba says she got a call from her actor an hour after making her decision to give it up, telling her she got the Orange Is The New Black role... but it wasn't even the part she auditioned for. Instead, she was cast as 'Crazy Eyes'. Find out what happened next below.

Later in the interview Aduba also revealed that she wanted to change her name to 'Zoe' and that she took her mom to the White House and met President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. But for once her mom - who is apparently very good at dispensing advice - was close lipped and only said one word! Find out what it was in this clip.

As for people yelling 'Crazy Eyes' at her on the street, Aduba explained that people "will just yell 'Crazy Eyes'," the star laughed. "Like either 'Hey! Crazy Eyes' or 'You like Crazy Eyes!'"

Not only that, but when Aduba ran the New York Marathon last year, she told Meyers that there were people yelling "You're killing it Crazy Eyes!" at her as she ran.

Earlier this week Udo also revealed to People that she was in the middle of a SoulCycle double when she found out she was nominated for a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actress in a Comedy Series.

In the chat with People she added that the award nominations mean a lot to her. "I love to act," she said. "I love to tell stories, and to be recognized by your peers, your fellow actors and people you respect."
