There's no denying that the upcoming 2015 season 9 episodes of BBC's Doctor Who need a boost in ratings. While season 8 saw the introduction of Peter Capaldi as the Doctor, it also saw a drop in ratings, with plenty of critics pointing the blame at the dark, adult storylines from head writer Steven Moffat. Now reports are claiming that the next season will be a bit more family friendly, while rumors suggest that Moffatt might lose his position on the series as well!

According to The Mirror, a BBC source says changes are to come for the next season of the hit series after a dip in ratings last year.

"There will be some tweaks. We are obviously keen for it to appeal to the whole family," the source told the Sunday People.

We recently reported on some negative reviews of the eighth season of the show that claimed it was "too adult" and not suitable for children. You can read more on that news here!

Sources have also called the latest season "boring," so maybe we'll be seeing a lot more action from the BBC series as well! Either way, we should definitely expect some sort of change from Moffat and the cast, but we know that whatever happens will be kept secret until the actual premiere date!
