While fans of the Star Wars franchise aren't too keen about the prequel trilogy, there's no denying that Ewan McGregor was a fantastic young Obi-Wan Kenobi. The acclaimed actor has been very open and appreciative about his Star Wars experience, so with J.J. Abrams' The Force Awakens coming out at the end of 2015, the actor has been asked a lot of questions about the project. In a new interview during the Sundance Film Festival, McGregor slammed the crossguard lightsaber that was on display in the teaser trailer (manned by recently named Sith Kylo Ren). Do you think the actor is being too harsh?

"I was a bit dubious about the [crossguard] on the new lightsaber," he told Vanity Fair in a new interview, according to IGN. "If you know how to handle a lightsaber, like we did, you don't need a [crossguard]. That's just one thing I think they might have got wrong."

Though he does have a point, that crossguard lightsaber is pretty cool, right? The way it just comes to life in the teaser trailer pretty much had fans falling out of their computer chairs! McGregor does compliment the teaser trailer, though; admitting that he feels the "spirit" is definitely in the movie.

"The trailer looks very good," McGregor said. "It looks like they've kept the right spirit."

Meanwhile, he also addressed some casting rumors concerning his own Obi-Wan stand-alone film in the works. So what did he have to say?

"I haven't got the call, as yet," McGregor teased. "Still waiting."
