Season 3 of The Americans continues tonight with an all-new episode on FX. To protect their cover story from being blown, will Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and Philip (Matthew Rhys) Jennings end up having to rescue Nina Sergeevna (Annet Mahendru) from prison before she is tortured to death?

In our previous recap, Philip and Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich) were having a guys' night out, while Elizabeth was beating the crap out of two FBI agents. Still reeling from being separated from his wife, Stan attempted to patch things up but fails horribly. He hears from his superior officer that Nina has been charged with treason.

In our recent recap, Stan was held at gunpoint by Oleg, who was furious over Nina's arrest. In Moscow, Nina spends every waking hour in a prison cell back in Moscow. After another inmate is thrown into her cell, Nina pretends to not care and sinks into her hellhole, hoping someone will save her.

In an interview with IGN Africa, showrunners Joel Fields and Joe Weisberg tease Nina's fate in the upcoming episodes. Questions will arise over who is Nina's inmate and why she ended up there.

Weisberg explains the authenticity behind the look of Nina's prison cell, "We really designed it very closely on video footage of it and based that cell on what cells would look like and the hallways looked like. So you're going to get a real look at what it would have felt like there. It's interesting. It wasn't really the stereotype like you'd imagine, like our show tries to define also the places where people are being beaten or tortured and stuff like that. It was a relatively civilized place."
