'The Following' Season 3 Spoilers: Are Kevin Bacon, Shawn Ashmore Being "Punished" In March? [WATCH]

Just ahead of the Season 3 premiere of the crime thriller, The Following, Fox has released a new teaser and featurette. Are Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) and Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore) being "punished" by their former adversary, Mike (Sam Underwood), who wants revenge for his brother's death?

As we previously mentioned, ex-FBI agent Hardy (Bacon) went rogue in order to catch the notorious killer Carroll (James Purefoy) and stop his murderous cult. Because he caught him once red-handed, Hardy thought he could do it again. He never thought those closet to him would suffer the consequences.

The second season changed dynamics when the two men had to rescue Claire Matthews (Natalie Zea), Hardy's lover and Caroll's ex-wife, from the psycho twins, Mike and Luke (Underwood). In the second season finale, Carroll was back in custody but Mike found himself picked by a mysterious stranger.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mike (Ashmore) has been actively hunting Mark since their last confrontation. There will also be a love triangle between Mike, Max (Jessica Stroup), and Tom (Gbenga Akinnagbe).

In the exclusive THR featurette, Bacon reveals what's in store for Hardy, "We took the law into our own hands a lot of times, and I felt there should be some price to pay for that, so characters start to expose secrets about what we did and the methods that we used."

Executive producer and director Marcos Siega adds: "The tone is just flipped on its head. Where we have traditionally spent time and invested in the bad guys, now we're going to get to do that with the good guys. The intention was "How can we have the show evolve, but do it in a way where if you've never seen the show before, you can jump in and follow along?"

As we mentioned before, Michael Ealy (Common Law) and Allison Mack (Smallville) are joining the cast.

The third season of The Following premieres on Fox March 2 at 8 pm.
