Based on the crime novels by the late author Elmore Leonard, there are only two episode left of the final Season 6 season of Justified. In episode 12, will Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) save Ava Crowder (Joelle Carter) from a "psychopathic" Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins)?

In our previous recap, after figuring out Raylan's plan, Boyd sacrificed his men and kidnapped Katherine Hale (Mary Steenburgen) to get to Avery Markham (Sam Elliott)'s money. Afraid to put Ava on the stand, Vasquez stirred up trouble and nixed her deal. Knowing she was going back to prison, Ava stole Boyd's gun and shot him. Rylan promised he would chase after her as Ava drove away with Markham's stolen money.

In our recent recap, when Katherine discovered Duffy was responsible for Grady's death, she sought revenge and aimed her gun at his head. Honoring his code, Mikey got in the line of fire as Katherine emptied her clip. After the brutal fight left Katherine dead, Wynn held his loyal bodyguard in his arms as he passed away. After dealing with Boon (Jonathan Tucker) and Avery, Raylan handed in his badge and went rogue to chase after Ava.

In an interview with Yahoo TV, show runner Graham Yost reveals Raylan's mindset, "Well, he's going to do what he's got to do, and if it means no longer being a marshal for this period, then that's what he'll do. He doesn't want to tarnish the badge, so he's going to leave the badge behind. But he has got to find Ava before anyone else does, especially with Boyd in the wind. Now he's got two very dangerous people who want to get Ava, torture her until she gives up the information of where the money is, and then kill her. So that's his job, and he's not going to go back to Lexington and as Raylan would put it, take himself off the board."

The Speed screenwriter also adds what Boyd is going through since Ava's betrayal, "And it's also Boyd utterly ruthless. He doesn't care about his men, as was shown in [episode] 10. He's totally focused on himself and what he wants, which is, I think, sort of stripping Boyd bare to his essence of his somewhat psychopathic or sociopathic nature, if there is a distinction."

Justified continues Tuesdays, at 10 p.m. on FX.
