Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Paquiao came to an underwhelming end this weekend, with the undefeated champion coming out victorious against his challenger. But what about his next fight? Yes; we've already moved past this epic bout to consider who Mayweather will take on next. All signs point to British welterweight Amir Khan, who has thrown his hat into the running for Mayweather's next and possibly final fight. The boxer could be retiring after one more fight in 2015.

Khan, who is set to fight Chris Algieri later this month, says he was reportedly offered a fight with Paquiao and Mayweather, but would prefer to fight the latter.

"I'm in a position where I could face either but I want Mayweather," the 28-year-old boxer said, according to BBC. "Financially they know it will be a big fight and it will be an exciting fight. I think Mayweather's team want the fight - but I've spoken to Manny's team and they've said the same thing, that they want a fight."

If this fight is in September, which is apparently what Mayweather wants, Khan would be fasting for religious reasons. This might be an issue, but Khan wants to work out a fight.

"I really believe I have Mayweather's number, and I'm ready for whatever he wants," he said of the 38-year-old champion, according to Sports Illustrated. "I can't do September because of Ramadan. It just depends on my schedule this year but if we can do this year or early next year I will definitely jump to it."

In fact, the young boxer had some critiques for how Paquiao handled Mayweather this weekend, explaining that he knows how to beat the champ.

"The mistake Manny made was to drop to Mayweather's pace," he explained. "You need to stick to your own pace and that's what a younger man could do. Mayweather is a very classy fighter but he is not the biggest puncher. He won't hurt you. One boxer who can get to him, throw a lot of shots, and show a lot of heart, is Amir Khan."
