Let's tell you something you already know – getting up to go to the gym is hard work. In fact, it sucks. It's so much easier to be lazy and hang around on the couch, or in bed, praying yourself fit rather than doing any actual exercise. But sadly, merely hoping to get in shape won't work––only doing something will. Which is exactly why there are a number of exercises you can do when you're in a lazy mood.

Yep, you read that right. Ain't it wonderful, folks? Let's take a look at the top 5, shall we...

5. Clean Your Home
This "exercise" seems to kill two birds with one stone: you finally clean that garbage pile you call a home (we're assuming), and you're getting in shape... kind of. Let's face it- this isn't at all comparable to lifting weights or exercising at the gym, but hey, it's keeping you active, no? #BabySteps

4. Yoga
According to a report in The Huffington Post, all you've got to do is roll yourself off the couch and onto the floor and you're already on your way to getting in shape. All you need to do is a series of six posture poses to "loosen tight hamstrings, relieve pressure in your lower back, open those hips and send increased blood flow to your brain."

3. Meditate
Is this exercise? Maybe not physically – but many would argue that mental exercise is equally, if not more, important. So go on and grab those Big Macs... and then meditate.

Oh wait, that might be going too far.

2. Go For A Walk
Some use it for time alone; some use it as an excuse to get outside; what you'll be using it for is to get in shape! In fact, Real Simple reports that walking has both physical and mental health. So, ditch those cars, folks.

1. Stretch
We swear, this isn't just because we're looking for an excuse NOT to get out of bed. Though in all honesty, who isn't? Real Simple also reports that stretching is just as imperative as exercise because it (again) helps your body and mind – specifically your flexibility, your posture and your ability to calm. It is also a wonderful way to relive yourself of tension.

Readers, do you have any lazy exercises you can do instead of going to the gym? Let us know below.
