According to NBC News, the president visited his Kenyan family, where he joked about his birth certificate. President Obama's father was from Kenya.

"Some of my critics back home might be suggesting I'm here to look for my birth certificate," Obama said while making a toast at a state dinner hosted by President Uhuru Kenyatta. "That's not the case."

In 2011, Obama made his birth certificate public after there was drama questioning his birthplace of Honolulu, Hawaii. There was a fake birth certificate claiming that the president was born in Kenya and not a U.S. citizen, which would have messed up his eligibility to be president.

During his visit, Obama's family including his step-grandmother, and his half-sister, Auma were in attendance for Saturday night's state dinner.

Besides reuniting and meeting his family, along with dancing and enjoying the nation of Kenya, Obama also spoke on serious matters including gay rights.

According to CNN, the POTUS said during his press conference with the Kenyan leader in Nairobi: "When you start treating people differently not because of any harm they are doing to anybody, but because they are different, that's the path whereby freedoms begin to erode," Obama added, "And bad things happen."

Kenyan law states that sexual activity between men is illegal and as a result you shall be punished by imprisonment for 14 years.

Kenyan leaders warned the president that he shouldn't talk about gay rights during his trip, but he did.

"And when a government gets in a habit of people treating people differently, those habits can spread," Obama claimed. "As an African-American, I am painfully aware of what happens when people are treated differently under the law."
