We previously got a quick look at Mirror's Edge Catalyst during the 2015 E3 events this summer, but we can thank Gamescom for premiering a 5-minute demo of the highly anticipated gameplay from DICE and EA Games. This new title isn't exactly Mirror's Edge 2, meaning it isn't a sequel, but from the looks of this new demo, gamers can look forward to similar handling and gameplay comparable to the original. Watch this brand new footage of Mirror's Edge Catalyst below to get excited for the February 2016 release date!

We already know that this new game won't involve any guns, according to Kotaku. DICE wasn't too happy with the gun sequence in the first game, so this installment will be void of guns for our character.

According to Mirror's Edge official YouTube page, the first look at this new gameplay footage allows gamers to "experience the moment where Faith begins her rise from a carefree runner to the hero the city needs. Playing in first person allows players to feel her fluid movement, combat and power. This trailer features pre-alpha footage from a cut-down version of a full mission in the game."

Gamma Squad points out that, from the looks of this new demo, the fighting in Catalyst is better than the first chapter and there are no loading screens between stages. This is a free-roaming, open-world game that will feel like a new experience for fans of the series.
