IDW Publishing continues its hot streak with The X-Files Season 11 #1. In the first installment, FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) are back with a brand new thrilling conspiracy tale by writer Joe Harris and artist Matthew Dow Smith

In our MStars interview at Special Edition: NYC, Harris revealed how the dynamic relationship between Mulder and Scully works, "It works best when Mulder is perhaps over excited about something where he see paranormal. Scully is naturally going to throw cold water on it. I just think that's how their dynamic works best. But keep in mind, they have been so many things together. It's already been subverted."

According to IDW's plot synopsis, Mulder finds himself a wanted fugitive, running from the law. Though she is clear from all charges, the government is keeping a close eye on Scully as she works nonstop to clear his name. With the all-powerful Gibson Praise controlling them like puppets, how long will it take before everyone is under his control?

Harris keeps the suspense building through the narrative as Mulder finds himself chasing after a fallen satellite. With Mulder's recognizable face, the storyline feels like a modern-day reflection of Eric Snowden, a fugitive from the U.S. government. It's scary to believe in Mulder, who has gone paranoid, especially since he's actually right.

Smith captures a frightening sequence, with Scully thrust into the center of the conspiracy. Using tons of references, Scully's interrogation scene feels like straight out of the movie, Fight The Future. With a cinematic scope, Smith illustrates the Utah mountains in wide panels to evoke a thin, claustrophobic atmosphere.

RATING: Take My Money Now

With The X-Files Revival coming up in 2016, readers should definitely pick up The X-Files: Season 11 #1
