Oxygen has a new boss in town and it's 27-year-old Dana Cody. MStars News reporter Star Connor had a chance to speak on one one with the nail artist diva that's bringing her trends to the hit new show, Boss Nails and she got the scoop on Cody's favorite client -- Blac Chyna!

The wife of George Teichner, 76, and the stepmother of The Real Housewives of New York star, Aviva Drescher, Dana is a businesswoman on her own. She owns her own beauty salon in Miami and has a private salon in Los Angeles for celebrity clients, but she's ready to conquer the world and take on other locations, including New York.

Cody's celebrity clientele includes Tilda Swinton, Megan Good, Aviva Drescher and Lil' Kim, but one of her favorites would have to be Blac Chyna.

Boss Nails premiered earlier this month and her series will continue on Oxygen on 9:30 pm/ 8:30c. The show follows Dana Cody, the glamorous and sassy owner of the Tippie Toes Beauty Lounge in Miami.

Each half-hour episode features Dana's funny and sometimes unruly staff as they create custom, one-of-a-kind fantasy nail art for her equally unique and demanding clients. Some clients will include a dancer that wants nails as fierce as her stilettos and an artist with an alter-ego who wishes to have a set filled with personality. The requests are very dramatic and unique, but no one ever leaves Dana's shop unhappy.

Dana made a name for herself after she broke boundaries in the world of nail design with "Treasure Nails," a crystal embellished manicure made popular by celebrities and high-end clients alike. Determined to expand her business beyond Miami, Dana's formula for success isn't following trends, it's setting them.

Star: Why did you pick Tippie Toes as the name for your salon?

Dana Cody: "My mother actually pick the name. She said 'it's from the tips to your toes.' That was her thing -- she was just like 'Tippie Toes' and it just flows, It rolls off the tip of your tongue."

Star: Why is it crazy working with your family?

Dana Cody: "It's crazy working with family, because it's family! You're going to have a lot of similarities and and you're going to have a lot of differences. When you know someone and you're related to them, sometimes you try to get away with things, sometimes you try to pull one over."

She added, "In a working environment you have to learn how to separate personal from business and it's a little difficult."

Star: What can we expect this season? Is there going to be some ups and downs and arguments?

Dana Cody: "I would say be prepared to see a lot of colorful personalities. We are nail techs. We're artists so we have our egos. We have our thing going on and we're young and trying to find our way so we're doing it together. We work so hard, so many long hours -- so when you see the same person 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, it's like 'oh my God, I could strangle you!' But that just comes with the working environment. You're also going to see a lot of love. You're going to see a lot of funny people because we love to have fun, love to turn up and we love to embrace our happiness."

Star: What is the latest trends and color for nails?

Dana Cody: "Right now it's any color, but the latest trend is this 'matte top coat.' So you can polish your nail any color and use a top coat with matte because it takes the shine off of the polish, plus all polish lines come out with selections from the season. So it depends on the season. It's Summer right now, so you're going to see bright colorful colors that lead into fall, then winter. So we really base off of seasons."

Star: What are some tips you would give the ladies who like gel nails verses other types of nail styles?

Dana Cody: "It depends on the person. Some people are actually allergic to acrylic, so they have no choice but to use gel. I work with acrylic myself, but we do gel too. It's just up to the individual and what you like. There's really not a difference if it's done the right way. Acrylic nails should last just as long as gel nails."

Star: Are there some tips for ladies who bite their nails?

Dana Cody: "I have a lot of nail biters. Acrylic nails or tips helps with nail biters. Acrylic really helps because you can't bite acrylic....it's hard and hurts your teeth and once you get into that process and grow out of it, you will realize, 'I don't bite my teeth anymore."'

Dana also said that you can treat your nails by "using tea-tree oil. All natural tea-tree oil it will heal your nail beds and it's like a hidden secret."

Star: Who is one of your favorite celebrity clients that you enjoy working with?

Dana Cody: "A very close friend of mine is Blac Chyna we have an amazing relationship. She brings out my creativity. She allows me to do me with her nails and she is like, serious about those nails. She comes with ideas like, 'I like this or that -- let's do this.' Or she says 'just do your thing, let's try different colors.' I like when a client allows me to just freelance because I amaze myself sometimes."
