Ever since Marvel got back the rights to Blade, there's been some buzz lately that they will be making a Blade sequel/reboot/spinoff of our favorite half-human, half-vampire vampire hunter! Wesley Snipes is even rumored to have been interested in reprising his role. However, Digital Trends reports, "The planned launch of a new Blade comic book series back in October was delayed indefinitely by Marvel execs for a very intriguing - although entirely unconfirmed - reason." They did mention that our hero wouldn't necessarily be a dude, but possibly Blade's daughter, Fallon Grey! "The focus of the series could have the day-walking hero serve a somewhat different role in his new adventures. This time around, the series would have Blade balancing the responsibilities of protecting the world from vampires with the duties of being a dad," Digital Trends says.

Tim Seeley, the Fallon Grey comic writer, describes what the heroine would be like. "She's a sort of 'anti-Peter Parker.' She's popular, she's well-liked and it seems like the world is her oyster. But, the expectations that come with being so damn perfect are starting to break her down, and that's before she learns she's the heir to a Daywalking-Monster-Stabbing-Empire," he said, according to Slash Film. This girl sounds awesome and we hope she's in the works.

There have been rumors that Marvel would be using the rights to use the original comics as a blueprint to create a completely new story. Even the idea of the original Blade surprisingly doing so well and its sequels bombing, indicates that this is a hit or miss franchise. "Over the course of three films, the Blade franchise has earned more than $204 million domestically and over $415 million worldwide," Digital Trends says. Especially now with all of the successes of the superhero stories, creating a new hero alongside her father anti-hero could really reign in an audience. We can all hope, but AceShowbiz says, "The rumor is still far from official and the studio may have to see how well the Grey-based comics perform before adapting it into a film. If the rumor is true, Grey is very likely to be the franchise's non-white female lead."
