Liverpool first team coach Gary McAllister praised his side for their League Cup victory this week over Carlisle, with hopes that today's match will be much of the same.

"We have asked players to take a bit more responsibility, we had that against Carlisle but didn't worry their keeper enough," he said, according to PremierLeague.com. "The players have got to trust themselves, they kept trying, nobody shied away. The past couple of seasons it might be a criticism of Liverpool that they've maybe tried to score the perfect goal, but the fact is we had a few shots at goal."

Meanwhile, Tim Sherwood's press conference ahead of today's game revealed that he's breaking down Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers' strategies already.
