Paul Wall gave a huge charity donation this past weekend, as the NBA star contributed $400,000 to help homless children at a Washington, D.C. organization. The Washington Wizards player stopped by Bright Beginnings, Inc. this past Friday, surprising the kids at the program, and dropped off the hefty check for the company, in order to aid them with building their second child development center.

Executive director of the organization, Dr. Berry Jo Gaines commented on the amazing donation from Wall, speaking on the impact it would make for the children.

“Support from individuals like Mr. Wall gives Bright Beginnings the encouragement to continue to provide comprehensive services for homeless children in the District of Columbia. It is evident that John Wall is sensitive and concerned about the plight of homeless children in DC and he wants these children to succeed,” she was penned as stating on the group’s Facebook page.

The group’s page continued to state, “Proudly displayed at the new BBI center will be the John Wall, Wall of Achievement, highlighting the everyday moments of greatness Bright Beginnings students accomplish, in addition to the legacies left behind by high school and college graduates who were once BBI toddlers and preschoolers. Bright Beginnings will also name a classroom in Mr. Wall’s honor. The new Bright Beginnings child development center is scheduled to open its doors in 2017.”

This is not the first time that Wall has gotten close and stepped up to help children in need, as he befriended a 6-year-old girl named Miyah Telemaque-Nelson, who lost her long battle with cancer last year. Wall became visibly upset by the news of her tragic death, which he found out during mid-season at an NBA game. Since then, he has launched a Foundation in honor of Miyah, where he is hoping to raise funds for charity through her incredible spirit and inspiration.
