As arguably the best player in the NBA, it's apparent LeBron James takes his job seriously. And, after a good month of November, it's apparent the Cleveland Cavaliers star forward takes Movember seriously too.

A quick briefing on Movember: What started out as an idea shared between bros (Travis Garone and Luke Slattery) over a beer back in 2003--a vision that hoped to raise awareness towards men's health--has quickly boomed into the phenomenon of month long facial hair growing it is today. All across the world razors quiver in fear as the month of November grows near. Men mercilessly ditch their razors in curbside trashcans, or leave them to rust away in the cold dark corner of a shower, opting instead for a look of a seasoned lumberjack; perhaps even--one can dream--a look like Tom Selek.

Which was the aim for LeBron when he convinced fellow teammates to commit to the cause this year--raise awareness, and do their best to look like Selek.

People are taking note of the curled lip piece, too. Shaq, Kenny, Charles, they're all taking a shot at James' manicured mustache. And while James' whiskers are actually the butt of the joke more often than not, the fact that people are talking about it is great for the cause. The more outrageous the whiskers the better.

At this point, it's safe to say Movember has come a long way. From 2003-2014 the organization raised well over $600 million, while also funding some 832 men's health projects--a neat total for something that started out as an idea over a few beers. And it's with the support of stars like LeBron James that the foundation is able to grow and impact the community on the global scale that it is today.
