It's no secret that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be giving life to the terrifying Negan when The Walking Dead returns in February. However, a second comic book villain has been confirmed to make an appearance in Season 6, and he will be played by none other than former 24 star Xander Berkeley!

The veteran actor was confirmed to join the cast of TWD back in September, although his role was not immediately announced. With only a month away from the mid-season premiere, TVLine has just broken the news that Berkeley will portray Gregory, the leader of the Hilltop Colony which includes Paul "Jesus" Monroe (Tom Payne).

Comic book fans are now excited over the introduction of Gregory, who may not be as vicious as the baseball bat-wielding Negan but proves to be just as dangerous to Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his group. In the comic series, Gregory is the one who betrays the group to Negan to save Hilltop. Although it may sound like he is just trying to ensure his colony's safety, Gregory was truly only trying to save himself and get rid of Rick.

So what will happen to Rick and the group now that more of the less friendly comic book characters are coming to Season 6? There's a possibility that TWD will be more faithful to the storylines in the comic series, which means someone will finally get their eye shot out, someone could get shot with a crossbow and a major character might get his head caved in by the merciless Negan.

The Walking Dead Season 6 returns to AMC on February 14.
