Apparently, Stephen Curry knew he was going to become Stephen Curry a long time before anybody else. At no more than 6 or 7-years-old, Steph starred in a Burger King Commercial along with his dad, Dell Curry. The long-time sharp shooting veteran of the league--Dell, Steph still had a few years to go ro reach his NBA MVP status--asked his son what he wanted to be when he grew up. Steph, confidently, without a moment of hesitation, as if what he was telling you was pre-ordained in the history books as fact, replied, "A basketball player."

Dell approved. At the end of the ad, Steph asked his father what it would take to become a great basketball player, you know, like him. Dell replied, "Well, you really got to want it. You got to taste it. You got to be able to smell it. I mean you really got to be hungry for it."

Now, some 20 years later, it's apparent young Curry had quite the appetite.

The commercials between father and son were aired during the 1990's, but--thankfully, for the good of all humanity--we were able to relive this magical moment of television courtesy of the CSN Bay Area broadcast of Monday's Golden State Warriors home game with the Charlotte Hornets, who elder Curry serves as the color commentator for.

In related news, on the same day at the same game, Steph took the opportunity to have a little fun with dad. During the pre-game, Dell was speaking on live TV about the upcoming game. Then, out of nowhere, maybe even the third row at Oracle arena, Steph attacked Dell with a friendly "Surprise!"

It all made for a good laugh, and was perhaps the catalyst behind Curry's strong night. In his first game back in the starting lineup, after leaving the Warriors game on Saturday with an aggravated shin, he put up 30 points, conveniently matching the number he wears on the back of his jersey.
