It’s finally arrived, folks. Several years ago, HBO ended it’s critically acclaimed series Entourage, leaving fans around the globe rather heart-broken, yet thrilled the way it worked out in the end for the boys from Queens. And after all the talk surrounding a movie, it’s finally coming closer to being true. Creator Doug Ellin has released the very first trailer for the Entourage movie, which features Vincent Chase and the whole crew from the series – including Kevin Connelly (Eric “E” Murphy), Kevin Dillon (Johnny “Drama” Chase) and Jerry Ferrara (Turtle). It hasn’t happened yet, but Sony has certainly threatened Twitter after some hack-related tweets have come out following word (and visuals) of that famed hacking job, which is reportedly from our friends over at North Korea. The hack job leaked a number of emails that took place within the industry, specifically ones between producer Scott Rudin and Sony’s Amy Pascal about Angelina Jolie as well as a number of others. The intention of the hack was to have the company pull the heavily anticipated Seth Rogen, James Franco-led film The Interview – in which the two travel to North Korea to kill Kim Jong-un. When Marvel announced its phase 3 movie schedule, we couldn't help but notice that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was set for a 2017 release, which just so happens to be a year before the 2018 release of Avengers: Infinity Wars - Part 1. Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are well aware of crossover events taking place with characters and plotlines, so should we assume that the Guardians sequel is a prequel to the first Infinity War film? After all, the character Thanos (played by Josh Brolin) is involved in both plot lines, so it would make sense. According to writer/director James Gunn, though, his Guardians franchise is not going to be based around the Avengers - so don't hold your breath for this to be some kind of prequel! Marvel star Chris Hemsworth of the Thor and Avengers movie franchises has teamed up once again with his Rush director, Ron Howard, for a whale of a blockbuster epic - literally! 2015's In the Heart of the Sea takes on the classic Herman Melville tale of Moby Dick, but with some amazing big-screen effects to really engrosse audiences in the story. Talking 'Into The Woods' on 'The Tonight Show', the 'Star Trek 3' star revealed that it's tough work going into a recording booth after Meryl Streep has made everybody else within hearing distance cry. After it was revealed that 'Fast & Furious' Justin Lin would be the Star Trek 3 director, 'Horrible Bosses 2' actor Pine talked to Jimmy Fallon about his dad, being a third generation actor and two dimensional characters... before the erstwhile Jack Ryan/Captain Kirk took part in a challenging game against Fallon called BattleShots. Filmmaker Justin Lin is best known for directing multiple installments of the Fast & Furious film franchise and is working on some season 2 episodes of HBO's True Detective, but in 0216 we'll see what he can do in deep space. After some drama surrounding Roberto Orci and the new Star Trek 3 movie project, Lin has been named as Orci's replacement as the director. We previously reported that Orci would remain a big influence on the film in a producer position, but Lin will be the man in charge, taking over for J.J. Abrams, who directed the first two films in the rebooted franchise. Read More »
Jackie Chan's son Jaycee Chan has been indicted on drug charges in China following his August arrest. Jaycee was busted with Taiwanese movie star Ko Kai in a raid on his Hong Kong apartment, having admitted to marijuana use and found with 100 grams (3.5 ounces) of marijuana. Four months after the arrest, Jaycee has been charged with "the crime of sheltering others to take drugs," and could face up to three years in jail. Read More »
Is the world ready for more Miranda Priestly? Well, ready or not, here she comes. One of the stars of the flick, Emily Blunt, does say that she is on board for a sequel to the 2006 film "The Devil Wear Prada." Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Emily Blunt starred in the blockbuster film, and while a book sequel has already been published, a film follow-up has yet to be in production. It may be Idris Elba's lucky day, as leaked emails show Sony Pictures Entertainment Co-Chairwoman Amy Pascal revealing that she wants Elba to be the next 007. According to The Daily Beast, a lot of Sony emails have mentioned the James Bond franchise, including the next film to come, "Spectre," scheduled to be released Nov. 6, 2015. The site claims the leaked emails also include a leaked script, sharing the film's budget of $300 million and Blofeld as the villain. If you are a fan of the hit movie, then you know that rumor has it Elba may be up to play the next James Bond in its 24th film. If Elba is to play Bond, he will also make history by becoming the first black 007. Read More »
