Back in 2013, New Regency announced a new film project based on Guy Delisle's graphic novel Pyongyang, which followed an American working in North Korea. Gore Verbinski was set to helm the project with Steve Carell set to star. This movie has officially been cancelled after the scary situation this month with the Sony email hacks and the cancelation of The Interview, which was a comedy about assassinating dictator Kim Jong-un. With the future of this Seth Rogen and James Franco comedy looking pretty bleak, New Regency decided to shelf the Carell picture indefinitely, probably to avoid terrorist threats. Read More »

Sony has pulled the plug on The Interview, the controversial new comedy starring James Franco and Seth Rogen about a tongue-in-cheek assassination attempt on North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. The hackers also sent out a warning to those planning on seeing the film that a terrorist attack of the likes of 9/11/2001 would take place at the theaters showing the movie. Though earlier reports suggested the hackers were not affiliated with the hostile country, these reports were false. North Korea was behind the hacking and the threats, thus leading to the cancelation of the film's premiere, with no plans of VOD/DVD releases Read More »
