The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a warning to state and local health officials a possible outbreak of infections from a virus called coronavirus. It was previously unseen in humans but has recently struck 14 people ill and has killed eight. The CDC's Weekly Morbidity and Mortality Report reported that most of the infections had originally been documented in the Middle East but have since had three confirmed cases in Britain. Self-proclaimed rat enthusiast, Chantal Banks, has decided to leave her husband of 11 years, Chester, to live in a two-bedroom apartment with her 19 pet rats. Chester feels that the rats are too much and too many where as Chantal considers them to be her children. Their son, Kevin, calls the rats his “siblings” since they “grew up” together. This is her follow up to 2011’s A Creature I Don’t Know and seems to follow her obsession with six-syllable album titles (2008’s Alas, I Cannot Swim and 2010’s I Speak Because I Can). Beach House released their latest album, Bloom, about a year ago, but that does not mean that they intend to stop treating us to dreamy, surreal music ventures. Just yesterday they shared their latest music video for the single "Wishes," which is directed by innovative funnyman Eric Wareheim of the comedy duo "Tim and Eric." To say that Wareheim's sense of humor and general process of thought is "weird" is a pretty big understatement. Luckily such a background mixes well with Beach House's esoteric sound. According to a knowledgeable source, longtime Yankees pitcher, Mariano Rivera, is ser to retire after the 2013 season comes to an end. A news conference that will be held at 10 a.m. this Saturday is expected to be the retirement announcement for the 43-year-old closer. He was a part of the "Core Four" along with shortstop Derek Jeter, starting pitcher Andy Pettitte, and now-retired catcher Jorge Posada.
