Over the weekend, a rumor started circulating that the iconic Japanese animation studio, Studio Ghibli, was shutting down nearly a year after co-founder and Walt Disney of Anime, Hayao Miyazaki, retired. The other co-founder and current general manager, Toshio Suzuki, has cleared up this rumor a bit, explaining that the studio might be dissolved, but for now they are doing some "housecleaning" in order to try to save it. Earlier this week, the first gameplay trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare debuted to plenty of excitement ahead of its release date, but it only featured the campaign story. Trailers debuted in abundance this week, with premiere previews and new looks at upcoming movies dropping all around the Internet. Mostly thanks to the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con, we were treated to first-looks at such films as The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Interstellar, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Maze Runner, to name a few. Dead Island 2 has a release date for 2015 and the hype for this new video game has re-launched the prospects of a movie adaptation. Thanks to a great slow motion, backwards commercial for the first video game release back in 2011, a movie production has been in the works. Video Game developers Bioware last week premiered some incredible new footage for the upcoming Mass Effect title. We learned that this teaser, shown at the Bioware panel at the 2014 Comic-Con, did not feature any gameplay footage or information in general about Mass Effect 4. Disney's takeover of Lucasfilm has resulted in a great amount of new Star Wars movies being announced, including standalone spin offs from great, young directors like Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank. While the former has his film set for a 2016 release date, Trank has a bit more time and could be working with Fantastic Four collaborator and Star Wars writer Simon Kinberg. About 6 weeks after Harrison Ford sustained an ankle injury on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII (allegedly on the Millennium Falcon) the actor has gotten rid of his crutches and was spotted walking around Los Angeles with a slight limp.
