Due to leaks that happened during the same weekend as Katy Perry's new single "Roar," Mother Monster's plans were all thrown out the window. "Applause" first streamed on VEVO and YouTube, was made available on iTunes a day or two later then a lyric video for the clip popped up on Friday (Aug. 14).
