According to reports, 26 different critics' circles have chosen their picks for the best achievements in film for the year, and when all of the wins are accounted for, Tom McCarthy's "Spotlight" comes out on top. The film topped the list for Best Picture 14 times, with the closest competition being "Mad Max: Fury Road," which has eight wins. Other big winners include Brie Larson and Leonardo DiCaprio. In addition to the holidays, Rooney Mara has lots to celebrate this time of year. The 30-year old actress just received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Drama for her role as lesbian Therese Belivet in Carol. No doubt her performance is also one of the reasons the film itself is nominated for Best Motion Picture in the Drama category, as well as its director Todd Hayes being nominated for Best Director. Richard Madden, best known for his role of Robb Stark, the King of the North on HBO's Game of Thrones, has officially signed on to the Kenneth Branagh-directed, live-action adaptation of Cinderella. Madden joins Lily James, who will portray the title character, and Academy Award-winner Cate Blanchett, who will be the wicked stepmother.
