Is Anthony Joshua Ready For Heavyweight Glory?

By Kenneth Brown | Dec 01, 2014 05:14 PM EST

Anthony Joshua remains one of the biggest prospects the boxing world has ever seen, but can he become the heavyweight champion of the world in 2015, 2016, or at all? His promoter Eddie Hearn today tweeted that the "plan is underway", and he's never seemed more optimistic that a Matchroom boxer is going to go the distance career-wise. Joshua has been tipped for fights with David Haye and Dereck Chisora in 2015, and if he wins the bouts, he could find himself in heavyweight contention, but the question is, when? Read More »

Huge Heavyweight Showdowns On The Way

By Kenneth Brown | Oct 20, 2014 09:16 AM EDT

Matchroom boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has big plans for Anthony Joshua and the heavyweight division. With 2015 approaching, it seems as if we're set for a stunning year of HUGE bouts. Wladimir Klitschko has been fending off his rivals for years, but he may soon have some competition, at long last, and it looks like it will come from Britain. Tyson Fury, David Price, Dereck Chisora, David Haye and Joshua, are all heavyweight hopefuls that may just get some of boxing's biggest bouts in 2015, and that may include possible fights with Wlad himself. World Champion Carl Froch Insults Contender James DeGale

By Kenneth Brown | Oct 17, 2014 01:40 PM EDT

Carl Froch and James DeGale could of stepped in to the ring with one another, but it seems Froch has little to no interest in the boxing bout. The IBF and WBA super-middleweight champion has ripped in to his domestic rival, insulting him, and ruling out their possible showdown in the process. Froch has revealed he'd retire before bothering to get out of bed to train for a DeGale bout. The champion wasn't coy, either. Read More »

Floyd Mayweather Controls Boxing?

By Kenneth Brown | Oct 10, 2014 01:36 PM EDT

Floyd Mayweather Jr is fast approaching the end of his boxing career, yet he still holds the boxing world in the palm of his hand. He is currently toying with the idea of whether to fight one of, or both, Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao in 2015, and his decision will change the boxing schedule around, to how he chooses. If he avoids Amir (yet again), then the Brit is likely to fight Kell Brook, in yet another stunning clash. Money Mayweather has the potential to make many sizzling showdowns, yet he seems adamant that he wants to 'punish' the Brit boxer. Read More »

Anthony Joshua Aiming For Title Belts

By Kenneth Brown | Oct 07, 2014 09:50 AM EDT

Matchroom boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is insisting that Anthony Joshua will beat Denis Bakhtov, then fight David Haye in the near future, but could he fight his close pal, the world heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko? AJ is regarded as one of the best boxing prospects ever, but strangely he has hit out at himself, saying he's 'not that good', however, Wlad disagrees with that. The champion recently trained with AJ, and was then full of praise, and with him edging closer to retirement, could AJ face him, or replace him as the boxing king? Before long the recently engaged Wlad will want to spend time with Hayden Panettiere and his yet-to-be-born baby, but could he help AJ to take his place? Read More »

By Kenneth Brown | Sep 05, 2014 10:10 AM EDT

A few short weeks ago, Kell Brook beat Shawn Porter to become the IBF welterweight champion of the world, and less than a month later he was running for his life, with blood pouring from his leg, fighting for his life and his career.
